LaunchCode is partnering with Boeing to search for driven talent for their Scrum Master roles in the St. Louis area. Those selected for this opportunity will start in an apprenticeship and undergo a free, full-time training during that period.

The apprenticeship begins on 10/14/2022 and runs for at least 6 months. During the apprenticeship, you will work closely with your LaunchCode classmates and work mentors. You will be paid $20/hour with benefits from LaunchCode for the duration of the apprenticeship, with an opportunity to convert to permanent employment with the company at the conclusion of the apprenticeship.

Our partner company requires all selected candidates to be willing to be in person in a hybrid format during the apprenticeship.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Help the Development Team create stories
  • Understand how the organization works as a large company that has strict rules of conduct and norms, and how to conform to them (e.g. Only approved software and tools, no bringing in external software to support efforts)
  • Maintain the balance between removing impediments and holding teams to their increment commitments
  • Must have great organizational skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have people skills to elicit honest responses from engineering staff and have their respect and trust.
  • Must have the technical acumen and competency to understand complex software trades
  • Have the ability to train and mentor others in the future

We’re looking for people who have:
  • Curiosity to understand customer and stakeholder needs
  • Passion, drive, and aptitude to succeed in technology
  • Willingness to engage in analytical conversations and activities
  • Ability to evaluate multiple points of view while remaining confident in representing the customer and development team
  • Fascination with product development techniques such as Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps
  • Must be local to St. Louis
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required. ***Candidates may not need a clearance until conversion to permanent employment.
  • Must be willing to eventually be in office in hybrid virtual and in-person capacity once on the job work begins. The full transition timeline is TBD.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I still take the training if I do not get an apprenticeship offer?
Unfortunately, no. Only those moving into apprenticeship opportunities will be allowed to participate in the training.
 
What topics will be part of the training?
The training will help you get prepared for the apprenticeship. At a high level the training introduces the basics of SAFe, Scrum events practice, and Jira and Version One training.
 
Do I need to have previous coding experience?
No coding experience is necessary, but you must have the technical acumen and competency to understand complex software trades.
