Step 4: Start employment as a paid Java developer apprentice
Dates for program: Interviews start August 27
Your stepping stone to a career. You get paid ($15/hour) for on-the-job, hands-on learning during the first 90 days. After 90 days, the salary will increase to $20/hour. After 180 days, companies have the option to convert you to full-time.
Typically, 4 out of 5 apprenticeships convert to full-time positions with LaunchCode's partner companies.
Unfortunately, no. The program is only available to individuals who can legally work in the US without sponsorship. This generally means you need to be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder) to apply.
The positions we fill typically offer around $50,000/yr. Candidates who complete the boot camp and subsequent 6-month (paid) apprenticeship with our partner company should expect a salary in this range.
You need to have a technical background in coding. While there is no specific requirement with regard to prior experience, you need to be familiar with Java or C#. Preference will be given to those with the strongest technical ability.
